Hey Nelson, I'd like to see you choose moderators that are not already moderating the LPF or TFF, because if you use the same moderators the three separate forums will all just be three pages of the same forum, and the moderators will have even more of an excuse to say they work harder than I do and put more into the forums than I do. I'm really tired of hearing that, especially since it's not at all true, and I think this place should be completely seperate from the other two.
Not saying Tim C was a bad choice, but he's got two other forums to look after too, and pretty soon it all gets to be just one big blur in your mind if you try to moderate that many places. Trust me, I know.
Now, as for Sposer, he's the man. Two thumbs up! Lily gets the usual standing ovation that she doesn't want that makes her squirm in her seat, and you get a great big fat Cubano and another broken cup.;)

I know Lily's the boss and I don't second-guess her choices or decisions. I was just offering an opinion.
They might not complain about it, but they sure think what they do is more important or meaningful than the three year's worth of answering questions, greeting newbies, drawing people out and getting them to talk and feel comfortable, and showing them the ropes of the forums that I and some others have done.
Now, that's not to say that I think I'm more important than the mods over there. That's just saying that they dont' work as hard as they think they do.
What I really want is a Caramel Cappucino, the BIGGEST one you have.

What the HELL could be in Kentucky that's more important than being in Arlington?!
...wait a minute, are you on the search for some nice bourbon?;)

I Forgot The Name Of The Event"" Hank kno's the Name" But it's a Big To Do!
"answering questions, greeting newbies, drawing people out and getting them to talk and feel comfortable, and showing them the ropes of the forums that I and some others have done."
Ed, you just described Tim C's job description too, btw. ;)
Actually, it was Nelson's idea initially to ask Tim C to moderate.
Once again, another great idea. :)
This a Cafe! Tim and this forum just seem like a natural!
And he's a great instructor, I've seen that at the other forums. I feel really fortunate that he's agreed to come in here to help when he can. We're still pretty small, I promised his workload would be very very light, and he promised to let me know if 3 forums was a drag workwise. I think it will help the new mods assimilate a bit just by his presence as a more experienced mod who knows the deal on these forums. I can't thank him enough for lending a hand.
And you are right. Many of our members at the LPF contribute their time and knowledge. The Les Paul Forum is blessed with large amounts of genius as far as I'm concerned. And they all know how highly valued they are as the very heart of that forum - by none more enthusiastically than me. I do everything I can to facilitate that.
But that doesn't take away from the fact that our mods keep the place cleaned up and running smoothly - as well as give freely of their knowledge as well - as another important service to the forum. How could anyone not appreciate that sort of a contribution as well?
You'll be seeing some new faces here too tho, no worries.

I've got no complaints on Tim's presence, position, or efforts, Lily. He's a really good fit for this place, certainly!
I just feel strongly that this place shouldn't be considered an adjunct to the LPF- which is the feeling at the Fender place, at least to me.

I agree,I love the other forums but this place has a real unique vibe to it.Something here feels different than the other two forums, maybe just because it's so small at this point in time.I really love the fender forum and it looks great. Lily and the mod's do awesome work but I think I like this board better than he fender board,no offense to anyone.I really like the atmosphere around here.I almost have as many post here as I do on the Fender board.

I hear ya, Gazz. It does feel kinda homey, doesn't it? A very nice departure from the fast lane.

I had a model helicopter painted in this color scheme once. It was hard to see in the sky and I crashed it on its maiden flight.
I blame Nelson.
