When the hell did this happen. Jeez!!!

I couldn't resist....I love them and I want one. :bh
Besides, I know this cool dude who works there!! ;)
I played some spectacular Taylors at the IBMA (bluegrass) convention this past weekend in Louisville, KY. They are not, however, bluegrass instruments.
Why is that Hank? They are strumming guitars...I would have thought they would do well with bluegrass...

I have one...now I want another. Played the new re-voiced dreads last night...I NEED a 710! Or maybe an 810!
Lily:
Taylor's are now much better with the revoiced tops. That was probably done in order to gain volume, imho.
Bluegrass-wise, Taylor's have always been "thin" and not "hard" sounding. They don't cut through a banjo like a Martin does.
Again, I played some really nice Taylors that would make great guitars in general. hank

I love my Dad's 810ce... But Taylors and Martins are two totally different horses, aren't they... Both great, but very different, and well suited to very different chores.
My preference is the woody tone of the Martin...

I love my Taylor 410. In fact, I'm looking to pick up a second small body Taylor sctrictly for fingerpicking. The Martin vs Taylor argument is old and tired. It reminds me of the PRS vs Gibson argument. To each his own. I prefer the voicing of my Taylor, but can totally understand why someone might prefer a Martin. I'm just glad that they're pushing each other to make better and better guitars.
