I Just got a brand new National Style 4"" Beautiful sounds Great
But for me to Heavy"" Wow!
yeah, I have a national tricone too Nelson , and mine is heavy, but they are brass bodied.. I've found they are more of a sit down type player, than a Dobro, because of the weight. I love mine, even tho it's just a style 1... NOTHING sounds like those.. But, i did get to play a new Dobro "dobrolectric", has the round resonator with a p-90, half and half, and WOW!!!! i could pull alot of those Bela Fleck tones out of it.. Almost "banjer" like... That was just for you Hanky....

Johnson Reso mandolin here, since I only play mando occasionally that was an inexpensive way to go, but I dig it!

I have a National O14 reissue roundneck. The new National Resophonic Company's work is flawless.I previously had a Model 33D Dobro roundneck made by O.M.I. in the mid 70's. The Dobro was a fine instrument, but the National is clearer, louder, more dynamic and touch sensitive with better intonation. I don't care much for Dobros made since Gibson took over ,but I highly recommend the old O.M.I. Dobros and new Nationals with the edge going to Nationals
