Any thoughts on these?
I want to get back into acoustic playing. I have one of the low end Takamine models that I enjoy and it sounds very nice and full to me. It's hasn't seen much action in the past year or so as I've been so totally obsessed with Les Pauls.
Anyone else play one?

Winston,
I have a mid-late 70's EF360S that I like a lot. I think it is modeled on the Martin D-35 with a very nice 3 piece rosewood back, spruice top, etc. It has the electronics so it sounds good amplified. Also it is well made.
I haven't had any problems at all with it in 20+ years. The new ones look like a pretty good buy for a moderately priced guitar. It doesn't look like they use a lot of rosewood in guitars of all brands until you get into the high lines.
It probably doesn't compete with the high line manufacturers as far as tone goes but it is a heck of a lot more affordable for the average guy.
IMHO a good guitar for the money.

Thanks. I've put a fishman rare earth sound hole pickup in and I think it sounds huge! Hell, the pickup cost 1/2 of what the guitar did! But I tried it through my SWR bass amp and 4x10 and with some eq tweaking, I think it sounds wonderful through that. Pretty cool :)

I've got a '78 Takamine F340S that's a great guitar. Basically a D-28 copy.
