... wha's new around the old Cafe?
Man, I need to come around more often. But then, I'm sort of hit or miss with its sister Fender and Gibson sites here, too. Well, I'm glad to see the faithful few who do check in from time-to-time still pop in on occasion.

Oops -- guess I better change my profile. We are BACK north, in New Hampshire, but moved from New Hampshire and WERE in the Dallas, Texas-area, from March '09 until this past September. I would have gladly stayed in Texas -- I love the state -- except for a job opportunity I couldn't turn down. I didn't think I had a snow ball's chance in heck of ever getting the transfer/promotion but applied for it anyway. To my surprise I made the cut and am back to my real "home".
On the plus side -- and there are more pluses than minuses -- we're back home and closer to family, friends and so on, not to mention I'm back to playing music locally with some new friends here. I will never love the snow, cold and ice of a New England winter, but three out of four seasons are great.

Cool. I got a new Les Paul a couple of months ago. But, I still have my D-35 Martin. Love that Martin.
Yep -- we're doing fine, indeed.
Nice to see folks coming around!
I've been plugging in a LOT here at the house since my forced retirement last July. I'm trying to get back in to my acoustic swing of things.
Tom, your blues lessons are fantastic! :)

Tom....I was thumbing thru your link there but couldn't find your lesson workshop you were referring to.....help me find it as I'd like to take a listen.
I'm getting a bit excited about a new project coming up for me. We're putting together an acoustic trio with a standup bass, a jazz based drummer and myself on guitar and piano to back up three female singers who are as good as I've ever heard. I haven't done anything like this in a while as I quit playing the late night scene a little over three years ago when I turned 50. At that time, it was blues/rock for four years and the seven years preceding that it was americana/folk music that was a hell of a lot of fun to play. This new group is going to focus on some older stuff like Roberta Flack all the way to Norah Jones and Diana Krall. We'll be playing locally on Tuesday nights from 7 to 10. I can handle that. I'll get home in time for my cookies and milk and Louis L'Amour books :dude .
