Stock Strings on Alvarez Guitars?

A co-worker of mine has an Alvarez acoustic that he wants to change the strings on. He likes the feel of the strings and they are the originals that came on the guitar. I'm not so worried about the brand but does anyone know what gauge strings come on the new Alvarez guitars? Their website had no string info. at all. Thanks in advance.

The Yairi models ship with Elixir strings. I have no idea what they use on the regular Alvarez models.

Sorry, just realized I didn't answer your question. I doubt seriously that any acoustic guitar is shipped with light or heavy gauge strings. So, process of elimination leads me to believe it had medium gauge on it, maybe a 12 e string.

Thanks for the info. The guy brought in the two E strings and it does look like there is "Elixir" type material in the windings. If you hadn't mentioned that brand I would have thought it was just some sort of gunk.
