How many different types of Gibson AJ reissues have been available out of Bozeman, since they started making them in 1990? Also, what are the differences betwwen the different reissues? Thanks

Wish I could help you, but I haven't the first clue. But I know this -- that's a big-butted woman in your avatar :lol :lol .

Looks like the original "Government Mule", Allen! :lol2
As for the AJ reissues: I don't know but it would be interesting to know. All I know is that mine is a '97, the same year as Jorma Kaukonen's (which he used exclusively on his "My Blue Country Heart" CD), so my guess is that it's been a good year for them, for Mr. K. has a choice. :)

Plank, I can't be positive but they have produced the Reissue, some blonde variants (maple), and a bunch of Custom Shop pearliezed, plus a final run of 8 or 10 Brazilians in 2003. I did see two Madagascar/Bozeman AJ's at the Opry Mills Gibson Outlet in Nashville a few weeks ago. I can't help much more than that.

I'm curious as I picked up an '06 from Japan that's marked '30s specs. It was a Yamano guitar with Madagascar RW Back & Sides, Adirondack Top, the neck is V shaped and is sunburst on the back.

Looks like you've taken down the pix PLank....too bad! I'd love to see your AJ. I've seen one on the net made by Kevin Kopp that had some type of Mexican rosewood. :bandit The type/name starts with an "M" I believe. I just picked up a 1995 marked "Vintage AJ" on the label It has a natural top. Anyone know about these?

I forgot that if you move pics around in the Lilipx albums, it kills the posted pic link, anyway here are the pics.

Try it now, Lilipix has a privacy feature that gets tricky.

Plankspanker,

That guitar is what I like! I had an 06, and it looked very similiar to that! I wish I didn't sell it.
