Hi guys, first post on Cafe wah.

Do all the modern Gibson acoustics come with a "pickup"/active electronics? The only acoustic electrics I have seen are Yamaha's etc. Do the gibson acoustics also come with an input jack and equaliser, or does it work differently?

Any input would be great, and please excuse the newbie question. The pics on ebay aren't helping me tog et an idea how these work, and my experience is limited to gibson electrics.

Thanks!

The 2 Gibson acoustics I have (J-150 & SJ-200)s picups are fantastic. They have no eq and to me thats a HUGE plus. You plug in the strap button and its pure Gibson. The batteries are a little hard to get to but other than that its a easy electronics system. I use no other accoustic playin out. I used to use Takamines but they sound so sterile to me. The eq just made them seem as if they could sound better and I NEVER found it. I hope this helps. It seemed like a long hard journey finding that right acoustic guitar. I love my Gibsons.

Oh yeah, you can look at the strap button (see a hole) to tell if it has electronics as they are NOT avalable on alot of Gibsons.
