Hello, fellow pickers. My main axe has always been a '55 D18. It's one year older than I am.

I just picked up the mandolin. Anyone else picking eight strings?

Here I am - I love blues mandolin. I play a Johnson reso mandolin, not the best but makes a lot of noise and hey, I'm the same vintage as your Martin! :ola
BTW: :hi this place can be a little sleepy but it's one of the nicer little corners of the www. So don't drop out and then one day you can claim that you helped make the "Wah" the biggest acoustic forum in the world! :yay

I've got a D18 as well...though mine's about 40 years younger than yours...
I don't play mandolin either - yet.
My dad has one that he played as a kid, and I keep telling him I'm going to steal it to learn on, but he swears he's going to pick it back up soon.

Thanks, and that old Martin has been following me around for a long time, now! It's like my old dog, not very pretty but a good friend!
