I looked at one of these used and cannot find any info on the net about them. Is anyone here familiar with them? They want a grand for this one.

Thanks,
Tim C.

Tim,

Not long ago a friend of mine dropped in to one of my gigs with one of those, and not only did it play fine, it sounded real good too. Recently I went looking for a new guitar to gig with and tried quite a few Gibson jumbo's and dreads (J-200, AJ, Hummingbirds) and none of these guitars sounded as good LIVE as the Songbird. And I don't normally use bridge pickups, but this one sounded pretty good in the Songbird. To be fair I played the guitar through a Fishman Platinum pre which helped tame the the high mids.

It's funny, the guy who brought the guitar in was ready for me to dismiss it, which I thought I surely would (he buys a lot of new Gibson guitars and good share of them have been tone turds as he likes to buy with his eyes), but I loved this guitar. It still had tha BRONZE gibson sound but was very playable, and I would definately consider adding one to my stable of abused guitars.:dude
