RICHIEBOO...That might be a real tall order? Likn' to; 'Looking for a needle in a haystack'. Only 57 made! Kewl looking black guitar though, especially if you're a New Yorker. I've only seen 1 of those pop-up in the last five years. But OTOH, I haven't been looking for one either.

Hi RB,
thanks for the response. Yeah , I have been searching for a few months now and have basically been told the same thing "be patient" "they come along once every few years". I've spoken to Elderly, Mandolin, and a few other dealers that have my name on a list in case one happens to come by via trade in or whatever. Also, ebay and overseas too.
More than anything else, the guitar has personal memories for me- as my best friend Peter Baron was bass player for Dion (post Belmonts) with a group called Dion and the Wanderers in the 60's. Peter and I were working on an album in 1995 when he was murdered in a music shop robbery in the Bronx.
They never found the robbers and Peter's music died with him that day. So maybe one day, if I'm lucky and patient (and persistent) somebody will come across a 000CBD and pass the info along to me.
thanks again for yuor response,
Peace,
Richie B
That's a sad story...I'm so sorry! I grew up in the era of Dion & the Belmonts myself. I too, have some fond old memories of the Wanderer himself. A fine group they were...in their day. Even Dion's recent work has gotten good reviews!
I'm always prowling the web for 'guitars', Martins especially. If I run across 'one of the 57' that were made, I will post it here....OK? If I do recall, the one that I did see, was on the Mando Site, but that was a while ago! Their site is so mumble-jumble & long, that it's difficult to locate a lot of what you're looking for sometimes.
As a side note...You might give a hollar over at the Martin Booth. There's lot's of good connections & info to be had there. Someone possibly might have some insight as to where you could find one of the 'Dion Models.'
