So I am in Boulder CO. training for my new job and I went to a GC in Denver, not a big fan of GC but I was bored. Anyway I fell in love with a Hummingbird Artist and talked them down a bit and then the kid says that he would throw in the case on the deal, well you know they come with a case anyway and that anoyed me enough that I did not buy it. Am I over reacting?
Would that piss you off?
I am still in Boulder and could go back.
Don't know what to do is this Guitar an GC excusive like they claim, I would rather get it from my guy in NE.
Thanks,
Tom

Over reacting? Not really, but I would have dickered with them a bit more before walking.
My understanding of GC is that this case business is a pretty common practice. I have read elsewhere that they will often mark down the guitar, but charge for the case, on guitars where a case is standard.
I bought a Strat from a GC once, and talked them down a smidge in the price. When I asked if that was the best they could do, the sales guy replied, "Well, I can throw in a strap and some strings and maybe knock half off the case." I told the guy it was a USA Strat that came with the case in the price, and that the other stuff he mentioned (except the extra set of strings) was part of the case candy that came with it FREE.
"Well, let me see what I can do," he said. He returned a few minutes later and knocked another $100 off the guitar, which included the case and other goodies free. I did well.
GC is okay if you do your homework, and if you are willing to walk away from a deal. It sounds like you have done the first and are willing to do the second. Go back, push a few buttons, and see what happens. Looking don't cost you anything, and walking is your right.

Sorry it took so long to get back to this they buried me in wrk.
Did not buy the guitar and I am back in Nebr. again, but will think about it some more when I go back up in Jan. 07.
I appreciate the advice and think maybe i over reacted.
Oh well did not really need another one anyway(like it's ever about need with me anyway).
