I've been playing a lot of acoustic lately; in the LONG process of moving. I have a '88 D-16A. Great guitar, projects well, good balance, plays really easy. Any other D-16 owners out there?

I have a D-16 sitting right here. It doesn't come out of its case much since it's my beach guitar, but the tone is great. Personally I prefer a small bodied rosewood guitar (mmm, brazilian). The D-16 is an excellent guitar in its own right and certainly an incredible value. Hmm, maybe I'll play mine for a while tomorrow (today)... :)

Thanks Nelson! Yeah, it's just a real plain jane Martin, but it's got tone to spare. When I bought it, I was really intending to pick up something decent but cheap (Yamaha, Ovation...), but once I picked up the D-16A, I knew that was it. I was a little worried about the ash sides and back, but lately I've been reading that they're getting some well deserved respect as they age a bit. Here's a crappy pic of the back (looks much cooler in person!).
