I went back to the store where I purchased my j-45. The Hummingbird was gone. I played the "songwriter" the 'advanced jumbo' and the 'workingman' again.
I made the right decision going with the j-45. The others are 'o.k.' Actually I liked the workingman the best of the 3.
The j-45 has the right vibe and everything going for it, look, feel, tone.
As for the inconsistency from guitar to guitar, that's true of all guitars. I don't care what it says on the headstock.
