Hi all, it's been quite a while since I've paid a visit, but I need your help.
I have a chance to purchase a "prototype" Gibson Dwight Yoakam Honky Tonk Deuce guitar. This is an excellent condition used guitar from a well known dealer and the orange label inside says "prototype". Also, from looking around on the web I found out that this guitar is actually just a little bit more expensive than a brand new one from a few online dealers. What I'm wondering is if a prototype model might be just a little bit better than a regular production model. I really have no idea whether it would be or not. My thought was that maybe the first ones made might have better attention to detail. The specs on this one are not any different compared to the production model and it certainly doesn't look any different from what I can see on their website. Anyone have any thoughts or comments?
Thanks.
