I'm listening to this song off of the Masters of Reality CD, "Sunrise on the Sufferbus", what a GREAT tune!!

has a killer groove with this thick accented English "bloke" lamenting the fact that Americans can't make a good cup of tea.....

it's frigging HILARIOUS!!

next band I'm in we're covering it for sure......lots of extended guitar solo possibilites too :)

ha, I was wondering if it was Ginger Baker or not.....I knew he was behind the drumkit, that's why I picked up the CD.

man, I wonder what he's doing now? I absolutely LOVE his drumming, the guy is *KING*.

I'd post an mp3 but I don't want to get in sh*t.

I guess it might be an obscure LP though.....any votes on whether I should put the song up here?

ps Nelson, got an email address?

I love that disc and the first Masters Of Reality CD. I saw them do a gig at a local college when Baker was with them. The crowd was about 50 college students, me, and every drummer within 200 miles. They were great. Chris Goss is a great guitarist and songwriter. I've been a big fan ever since that show.

He has a bunch of solo works that are great drumming records.
I have two, one's called "Horses and Trees" and another called "Middle Passage". If you love the groove these are great records, they are DRUM mixes, so the drumming is up front in the mix....go find it!!

good stuff:spose:)

added info on above records:

Ginger Baker: Middle Passage (1990)
With Nicky Skopelitis (guitar), Bernie Worrell (keyboards), Jah Wobble (bass), Aiyb Ding (percussion).

Ginger Baker: Horses and Trees (1986)
Ginger Baker returns with producer Bill Laswell (also on bass) and international line-up including Nick Skopelitis (guitar), L. Shankar (violin), Bernie Worrell (organ), Foday Musa Suso (kora), Ayib Dieng, Daniel Ponce, and Nana Vasconcuelos (percussion).

cool, thx Spose, I'll look for those.

I think he should hook up with Page/Plant/Jones for the 2003 Zeppelin tour :)

as of '99 he was living in South Africa playing jazz & running a farm:

doesn't seem too interested in rock music anymore. wonder what he's up to these days?
