Hello to all! I mostly hang out at the LPF and the FF (I'm dfs69 at both places also). I live in SW Nebraska, married with 3 kids (13 y/o boy, 7y/o girl and 4 y/o boy). I mostly play electric guitar, but love the sound of a well played acoustic (which means when its not played by me)! I've been looking at getting an acoustic just havent decided which one yet. I have a Takamine acoustic/electric but dont like the way it plays or sounds, maybe a Gibson is in my future! Anyway, glad to be here and look forward to posting more.

Hello there, from another newbie to the Cafe. Go try a Gibson J45, really great instrument and the best of both worlds since it has the built-in pickup. There are not too expensive (considering it's a Gibson!) and you will want to keep it forever.

dfs69--it's the one I mention in my introduction, a 1965 Gibson Country Western model, very similiar to a Hummingbird or Southern Jumbo, square shoulders, but with a natural spruce top, maghonny back and sides, and on this year a wonderful Brazilian rosewood fretboard with the cool split double parallelogram inlays. This is the favorite year/model of Sherly Crowe and the one she & Gibson chose to make her Signature Guitar.
