I just got ahold of this! It is one of the most beautiful guitars I have ever seen. If someone can tell me how to post pics I will. I got it for $695 from someone I suspect has a substance abuse problem. I was vacationing in MD, and I guy approached me outside a music store. These are 4K where I live. Does any one else play Tacoma and if so what do you think?

Sounds like it might burn your fingers when you play it.

Wecome to the world of Tacoma acoustics, one of the best kept secrets in the guitar world. Just trust your ears, You got a steal. The next time you go guitar shopping I bet you pick up a Tacoma. I play them on a daily basis with no disappointments.

I bought a DM18 a few years ago after an exhaustive search for the right tone, feel, build. I was bouncing between a few Martins, a Gibson, Larrivee, and a Seagull. I tried a few Taylors and found them to have great sound, but they were lacking a bit in depth and seemed a bit too trebly.

I picked up the Tacoma and was blown away. The comparisons too the Tacoma narrrowed my field quickly. The build, the sound and the feel was hard to beat and, at a price below a grand. It was an easy decision.

Some don't like the headstock or bridge shape, but with the beauty of the woods, the inlay, the binding, and the construction...all of the Tacoma design features come together nicely.

I am sold.

You people are so right. I have owned many different guitars in the past. I love my Tacoma. This one being maple has a little bit different voicing, however it is perfect for me. I will soon be adding a traditional Tacoma model (dreadnaught) soon. This guitar has got me excited about something I've been doing for 20 years all over again. WooooHoooo!

I own a Tacoma DR-38 dreadnought, which is an amazing guitar.
Solid Sitka top with rosewood back & sides. Abalone ginko inlays on the ebony fretboard, with abalone purfling on the top.
Fully bound, and becoming my favorite friend.

I bought it new two years ago, and it seems to just get better with age. It's punchy, with a lot of tone. Can't wait to hear it in five years.

I would definitely buy another, if a good deal comes around.

Count me in on the Tacomas. :) I was in Guitar Center yesterday (Sunday) in Raleigh, North Carolina and they had a used Wing Series Road King Dreadnought for $250.00 I figured as unassuming as the this cutie looked, it was probably a decent beginner guitar-until I picked it up and played it. Wow! I never knew you could so much for so little. If they still have it by the end of the week, It's mine! I love the tone hole design. The only thing I've played that offers a better sound has been a McPherson (salivating!!!) Man, one day when I grow up, I'm gonna' get one of those puppies but until then, The Tacoma is the bomb.....hands down. :blp

I had the DM9 about eight years or so now.
For this price range it was great and blew the all mahogany Martin out of the water.
