The undisputed GEN-X mandomonster is Chris Thile. Here he is in action. Any of you familiar with him?

Like I said. I'm a real newbie to bluegrass. Two and a half years in east TN and I'm finally catching on.

I really like NickelCreek. Saw them on PBS one Saturday night and was hooked.

They wouldn't be considered "Bluegrass" amongst us veterans. They are good, and they are musical, and they are entertaining.................. but they ain't "bluegrass". imhohank

Precisely why they're good at luring guys like me unsuspectingly into that genre. Fringe music is good for that.

Do you ever get out to Rocky Branch or any of the other Bluegrass Jams around you-know-wheresville?

BB, I don't go out to Rocky Branch. I typically pick with some guys on Wednesdays. That's about enough for me.

But, Nelson, I've never built a mandolin before,a dn I gotta finish a fretboard I'm working on for someone, and then I gotta finish at least ONE of the guitars I'm working on for me before the ARlington show! When am I gonna find the time?

I caught Nickel Creek playing on PBS too,Chris was really good.
