I have posted this on all 3 forums so no one is missed.
Just got a surprise this morning.
We were having breakfast and my wife was opening some mail. As the American Express bill was opened her eyes widened. Her first response was what did you buy now?????
Last month were went to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland. When we pulled up to the Hotel my wife got out to register.
That was the only place we used her credit card. Someone took the number and proceeded to take a Limo from Cleveland to Florida non stop for $1,014.00. Several nights in a hotel for about $1,600.00 and another taxi for a few hundred so about $3,000.00 in extras.
American Express was excellent when we called. "Just pay your charges and we will take care of the rest". We had a similar incident several years ago with Visa. (much smaller amout though) and they were not nearly as helpful as Amex!!!
The Hotel we stayed at was upscale ($350.00 per night) so I expect a certain amount of security. Guess not. I'm waiting to hear back from their General manager.
So check your charge card bills carefully!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
