Looks like the Brazilian Rosewood will completely disappear from Gibson. As of 5/31/03, no more Brazilian.

Anybody hear anything about this? hank

That's the same thing I've heard, too.

Hank; the folks on the LPF are very passionate about this topic, but does it matter? My thoughts are, such hype has been created if you ever go to resell a R9 or R8 etc. the first question would be "Is it Brazilian"?

If I were in a position to buy a historic NOW the last question I would ask the seller would be "is it a Brazilain Board"? I would want to hear the tone and see how nice the top is first.

Am I missing something?

Thanks brianf

brianf: my point was that Brazilian is going bye-bye on the acoustic guitars, not just the LP boards.

It is significant regarding acoustic guitar bodies.

Yes; I guess on an acoustic it would make a difference, but on the fingerboard of a LP?

I did get a chance to play a PRS with a solid Brazilian Rosewood neck. The feel was fantastic.

I heard rumblings....Interestingly enough, Martin is continuing with the Brazilain wood. the unfortunate part of this is the cost would be set at $18,000USD.....OUCH.......

Anyone got a guitar? Put some music to this will ya'

Brazilian wood got ta' be good,
but it ain't true enough for me.
I guess the new sound that Gibsons found, should be good for the treble cleff.
but if you want that real good sound, you'll have to turn to old CF.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Ah shoot, gotta have a little fun from time to time.

It was a good session. Mostly just jammed a bit and got comfortable again.
Check out your e-mail for the song list we are working on. We didn't toss out any of the ZZ top stuff you suggested because..........We couldn't remeber any of it. You'll have to bring us up to speed next week.
Our drummer is out for a few weeks so we will have to find a sub but I think that shouldn't be to much of a problem.

Anyhow, Stay in touch eh?

It is true that gibson has stopped using brazilian, that being said, I got two LC-1 brazilians out of them before the curtain fell. Only two were made and I got em. They are the sweetest things, not to rub it in.
