I have it hanging right next to me....plays and sounds great. Like most archtops it's a bit plinky, I dont find it to be a lead guitar sound wise, but it plays very smooth. Tone wise it's great at the cutting chordal comping, swing style.
Cool!
Is the headstock the same as a 175?

the headstock is bound but same inlay as 175...it also has a 3 piece neck and big frets

Nice score! I've had the gas for one of those for about two years now, its hard to find a clean one at a reasonable price. One of the guys in a local band (The Front Porch Swinging Liquor Pigs) plays one and it sounds great. I agree though not much for lead work but great for a little finger pickin and swing chords.:)
