Sorry, I can't stand it any longer.

This new D-28 Golden Era is killing me! :) :bh

Golden Era on left. HD-28LSV on right. The LSV had to go in order to fund the GE.

Hank,
I know I just got new glasses and all, but that looks like a golden era on the right, and mighty fine lookin' brazilian on the left. Are these the same D-28GE? I love that slab cut wood on the left. Some of the martin snobs like the strait quarter sawn back and sides, but I like the swirls. How does that thing sound?

Thanks Doc!

It sounds phenomenal. The slab cut Brazilian is quite red in tone, more like the old growth stuff.

The guitar on the right is my former HD-28LSV, Adirondack topped. It has the enlarged sound hole, as you recall. It is a great box. A friend had always wanted it and I promised it to him if I got and 28 Golden Era.

hank's happy

OK, edit time. Doc you win! Yes, that's my buddy's D-28GE on the right. Mine's on the left. Wow, you're good, "my bad"!

btw, I love my D-18GE just as much! hanklin

Hank,
Is your D-18GE a sunburst? I have started jonzing for sunburst Martins. I want to change all my nat. finished GE's for sunburst ones. This is where I want to start. http://www.williesguitars.com/Pages/om45ge.html

Thanks!

Willies' Guitars had a new D-28GE SB available a few weeks ago. Go for it Doc!

A friend has just ordered a D-45GE in sunburst. OMG! :D

Hank,
The D-28SB from Willie's is on its way to Arkansas. :dude I still have not convinced myself to trade my D-45GE for Willie's OM-45GE SB. Where did your friend order his D-45 GE SB from. I would be interested to know how long his wait is going to be.

Anybody want to buy a slightly used D-45? :bh
I want the whole set in sunburst :play

My friend ordered it locally from Ciderville Music. Don't know how much, but pretty reasonable for such a fine specimen. He's been told "July" delivery. About four months.

By Arkansas, I presume to you? nice

I traded my nekkid D-28GE for the one with clothes.
I have heard of ciderville over on the unofficial martin guitar forum. I am a regular lurker over there, but have never registered. Those guys are crazy about there martins like we are. Maybe a defection is in order :ped

It took about 15 months to get my D-45 GE. I ordered it from the NAMM when they were introduced. The shorter wait will make it easier to move my 45 for a sunbaked one later on.

Keep us up on the D45GE please. Also, I want pics of all. hee hee

Also, I hang at the UMGF occasionally. It's OK, not real exciting.

You'll recognize me there ................... as "hanky".

Hank,
The transformation is nearing completion.
I now have the D-18 GE and D-28 GE's in sunburst.
The new D-45 GE sunburst should ship around first of next year.
I am zoning in on a sunburst OM-45 GE. If the pesky brazilian rosewood lespaul fiasco hadn't come along, I would already have it.

I bow in your direction doc. Quite a nice selection.

Played the D-28GE at a jam last night. Killed the banjo player and wounded the bass player. :lol
