Just picked this up for 350.00 (why can't I stop spending money on guitars?!). I found one for sale at Elderly (could be somewhere else actually...) for 500.00 so I am hoping that 350.00 was a pretty good deal.

It wasn't really what I was looking for in an acoustic but it seems pretty nice. Solid cedar top, lots of ornate details, mahogony neck, book matched rosewood back and sides. It is supposed to be an 1896 reissue of the R306. Very small "parlor" type body.
It has a pretty wide neck that is very comfortable!

Thanks!

Maybe someone can answer an acoustic question for me. I was helping a friend buy his first guitar, an acoustic in the 200.00$ range. We found a Chinese made :( Alverez that played and sounded pretty good. It had the selling point of a solid wood top. How is it cheaper to use particle board or whatever and then put a thin solid top on top of that? All the non solid top cheap guitars still had a thin top of spruce or whatever. How can this be cheaper?

I was looking at used Martins and Taylors but somehow managed to leave the store with this for $300
