hey, anyone know if it's a good idea to use nitro to finish an acoustic?
I'm building a classical gtr, & have a jar of good "Goudy's" clear lacquer I was initially going to use on a LP copy.
??
thx!
I believe nitrocellulose is the main finish on Martins, Gibsons, and other quality instruments. Can't recall on Taylors, but likely.

Taylors aren't nitro lacquer, they use some type of UV cured finish I believe.
Thanks Mike. I was checking back to make that same correction.
I love the smell of new lacquer. yummy :lol
