this subject goes too deep for me to get into one or two favorites. I'll just say that his body of work is overwhelming. We just got our tickets for Oct., he plays three blocks from our house almost every year. Lily and I play ALOT of his music. Ballad of a Thin Man is one of my favorites to play and Lily ALWAYS knocks out the crowd with Like a Rolling Stone :)

NOw, Sposer, I know the only way you know the titles to those tunes are because you read them off the album sleeve- no WAY could you have deciphered Zimmy's singing.;)

EdR,
yeah good news!! only a small cataract, not anything worse. also, only an elevated BP. no other health issues.
due to dr. constraints i did not get a chance to check out the orange amps. but did get the sg fixed and have a great shop to deal with.
got to ride a 100th aniv fatboy and a 1200 sporty. the fatboy is my bro-in-law's. the sporty we rented so jackie could ride. if the dealer would have dealt we would have a sporty on its way. such is life.
ate too much good southern cooking, drank way too much cheap cruzan rum (brought my own - it's cheaper), saw family i have not seen in 20 years, made up with my brother (REAL BIGGIE), and just had a great time.
don't mean to break this thread, but thanks for asking.
:stxrus (soon i'm sure!!)
steve
played a '57ri strat, that if it was set up would be a great axe, but as it is ... pretty hohum.

a favorite line from some really lame piano player in a holiday inn bar in meridian miss (circa '72-'73) "when the shark bites you on your butt babe, you know you've been bitten on the butt by a big old shark". this was YEARS before jaws and everytime i hear "mack" i chuckle about teh aborted lyrics.

Ditto.
I love that song. I pump it up every time it is on the radio. I have the cassette with that song on it in my car right now. :D
Actually I also like a lot of his son's music as well.
