Picked up a fabulous Gallagher Doc Watson acoustic Monday from an individual nearby. It's a '78 model in EX+ + condition. Sitka top, herringbone, voiced bracing, ribbon mahogany b/s.

Made in Wartrace, Tennessee. It hung in there against mandolins and banjos at a jam last night. Not as "hard" sounding as my AJ or LSV. Very "mahogany" like. Well balanced.

Anyone else familiar with these.

Went to an old time Fiddler's Convention today. Played two Gallagher Doc Watson models there. One was a cutaway. Fabulous! The fellow who won the flatpick guitar competition was playing the cutaway Watson.

Anyway, give them a try if you're fortunate to see one.
