acording to a local player in a reggae band they are supposed to be a "grip" style like the ones with different holes in them. very uncomfortable to me and not necessarily any more "sticky".
i'm still using the 1mm nylons myself.

Actually the fins are for pick slides. The fin type picks also have two different ends you can use, one more pointy, the other like a standard pick.
